So today I will be sharing about my Day 2 in Finland whereby we will be checking in to our Apartment!!!
The tutor which came to fetch me was super super nice and volunteered to pick up my keys for me which was in Helsinki while we were in Espoo, a neighbouring city and even came down to bring us down to our apartment.
It was about a 15 - 20 minutes walk and the tutor said that we can walk there with our 4 luggages. However, while the tutor helped to push 2 luggage, my friend luggage had some problems and it was pretty heavy. and we were freezing. Furthermore, the snow was really huge and we could not really manage it. Hence, we ended up calling for Uber to Uber down to our apartment despite that it was just in the vicinity. 🤭
And... we finally reached our apartment! The apartment was pretty big with a large common space and 4 rooms which mean we will have 6 other apartment mates! In total, there were 4 from HK, 2 from Peru and us from SG! 🌟
Below are the video walkthrough of our apartment and rooms
Really really love our apartment and theres even a sauna in the building that we can booked for. 🧖♀️
After settling down, we then proceeded to stock up on groceries at a supermarket which was about 10-15 minutes walk away and explore the area.
There were 3 supermarkets in total: S-Market, K-Market and Lido!
Lido is our all-time go to where everything there is the cheapest out of the 3 supermarkets! If we are unable to find the things we want there at Lido, we will then proceed to either K-Market or S-Market. Thus, the convenience around here was superb
There was also a library upstairs, a train station nearby and several restaurants as well as clothes shops (2nd hand shop and H&M!)
oh yes! And during the exploration, we really feel the difference between Finland and Singapore just by crossing the road.
In Singapore, when you are near the zebra crossing, some drivers may just zoom past you but here in Finland, even before you reach the zebra crossing or road junction, the driver already start slowing down quite some distance away or even stopped their car already!!!
Then we started to feel paiseh oops and chiong across the road HAHA
But so far, I am enjoying Finland and it just feel so safe! My research had shown that Finland was one of the safest country and so far my occurrences prove that it seemed to be true. We shall find out more about it soon!!!
