30.12.18 - 31.12.18 SEP Journal

It was 30 December 2018. I just returned from a 2 week Taiwan tour and now I am leaving for Finland for my exchange. Furthermore it is a midnight flight.

I dislike midnight flight as it is hard to fall asleep sobs :( But yet this flight has the best timing and price so far. So no choice, I have to live with this decision.

And so here I am at the airport, waiting for the departure. This departure would mean 5 months away from Singapore :( Will certainly miss the 3Fs: Family, Friends and Food !!!!

Before my flight, my aunt gave me a pineapple cookie she made since its the year of pig and I won't get to celebrate CNY in Singapore :'(

Here comes by 12 hours of flight... With the hope that there are nice tv shows on air, I boarded the planeee and my seat was 50C. There were several empty rows around me and the seat beside me was empty. I was hopeing that 50A will be empty too so I can have the whole row by myself but to my disappointment, a guy appeared and took the seat. My hope for a row to myself was goneeee

There were several interesting shows on the plane but as it was quite late, I became sleepy and tried to sleep instead but the sleep did not last long as "dinner" (supper rather) was served.

And I fell asleep after it again haha. As usual, due to the discomfort of the sleep on the flight seat, I wake up soon after to find it all dark and went to watch some movie to hopefully be able to fall asleep again oops and i did

The 12 hours felt like days and finally its breakfast time!! And my favourite part of it was actually the bun oops

Soooooooooon enough, we finally reached Helsinki YAY. With 2 big luggages, I rolled them out of the airport and met with my tutor, He was really nice, helping me to push my luggage, carry them and bought my train ticket for me. However, I can't check in to my temporary house yet and he waited with me at the host house which was super super nice of him!!! The host was really friendly too and later they brought me to a nearby shopping centre to walk around and even helped me to get a data phone card ^^

Finally in the afternoon, we managed to check in to the house which we intend to stay for a night before we get our keys to our accommodation. That night was actually new years eve and it was snowing and we could even hear fireworks but I was too tired from the jet lag and fell asleep without celebrating new years' eve oops but here's a short video of the snow that night and the fireworks sound can be heard:

And this marks my end of first day in Finland before I gotta wake up the next day to move all our stuff to our apartment that we got to live in for the 5 months
